“Group Stay”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 13 July 2015

Recently, as a group we stayed at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel, it was an excellent stay! Easy to navigate, friendly staff, full breakfast, nice spacious rooms, awesome location, walking distance to local restaurants and water taxi....loved the added bonus of the shops and food market.
As an event planner and trip director you can't miss with this property. The General Manager and her dedicated team made the experience from start to finish stress free!
Thanks Lonsdale, the group is still talking about their Vancouver trip.

“A great evening”

5 of 5 starsReviewed 13 July 2015

My wife and I booked a room at Lonsdale quay hotel, as we were attending a concert at rogers arena. we stayed at this hotel for our wedding night 24 yrs ago. We were upgraded to the carrie cates suite, with a bottle of champagne and chocolates. What a gret room, great view of the harbor, Jacuzzi tub and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The staff are great, and the manager , Farah, is a great person and treated us very special. I would definitely recommend this hotel very highly. Again a great night and thanks to Farah!!!!

“Location plus!!”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 30 June 2015

We lashed out and booked the honeymoon suite on level 3 with 180 degree views out over the harbour to Vancouver. It was worth it. Stayed for 9 nights and enjoyed all that the quay area has to offer as well as the easy access to sea bus over to Vancouver. The balcony on this suite was massive and enabled us to enjoy the outdoor with a view to die for. Our 3rd stay here and definitely the best! The area is getting better each year and now has a great little boutique brew house in the market area underneath. It has all the facilities you need including laundry and access to many many great value restaurants within 100 meters.

“Amazing Hotel!”

5 of 5 starsReviewed July 2014

Deciding to spend our honeymoon at this hotel was one of the best decisions we ever made! I couldn't believe how easy it was to access all forms of transit (bus and sea bus depot are literally across the street!). We didn't have a vehicle any day but one, when we decided to drive up to Whistler, and we never missed it at all! Yet we saw every major attraction Vancouver had to offer easily thanks to the excellent proximity to transit. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to help us out. The mix lounge serves delicious breakfast with so many choices, I had trouble deciding what to get! Loved the shops and stores downstairs in the shopping area. In fact, we found it hard wanting to leave the hotel with all of the shopping and delicious food right outside our door! I'll never stay downtown when I have this amazing hotel on the north shore I've discovered. Oh and let's not forget about that view! Walk out the front door, or look from your balcony, and there's the entire Vancouver skyline across a peaceful strip of the ocean. It literally took my breath away. And I wasn't the early one. Standing out on the deck of the mix lounge one day, I heard several other guests walk outside and gasp as they first soaked in that view. Staying in the Carrie cates suite, which offers a 180° view of the city, one night, was the highlight of our trip. We both agreed it was the most romantic spot we'd ever been, as we enjoyed the jacuzzi while looking out at the shimmering lights of the skyline in the water right outside our room . I cannot say enough good things about this hotel!

“Great Value, Excellent Location, Nice Hotel”

4 of 5 stars

We recently visited Vancouver and were advised by friends to try the Lonsdale Quay Hotel. It is situated on the third floor of a market, on the water, on the North Shore. The SeaBus (ferry to Waterfront Station downtown Vancouver, Gastown) is right beside this lovely and so handy market, which has a permanent indoor component as well as an outdoor farmers' market May-Oct.
I loved a few things: (1) taking the Skytrain from the airport, hopping onto the SeaBus, and arriving at the front door of our hotel in 30 min, for $6/ea. The ride back to the airport cost only $2 each -- crazy (2) sitting outside on the ocean-side patio, drinking our morning coffee (or afternoon beer), enjoying the gorgeous view, then catching the SeaBus, which comes every 15 min, and being in downtown Vancouver in 5-10 min (3) paying way less (<1/2) than my friends who stayed downtown in 4-5 star hotels that weren't on the water and were no more conveniently located (4) buying food, wine, gifts, fresh produce downstairs and being able to bring purchases right up to the room.
Our room was nice but not deluxe, with a balcony and a little fridge, clean and bright. Perfectly adequate. We enjoyed a lovely seafood dinner steps away from the hotel at a ocean-side restaurant called Pier 7. Much quieter and more peaceful at night than downtown Vancouver. We slept well and weren't ever disturbed by noise. Hotel staff was helpful and competent. No complaints. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

Excellent!

I had the good pleasure of staying here for a week's business in the Vancouver area. The room was large, well appointed, and very clean and comfortable. Such a nice touch to have a water cooler in the room, along with a frig and microwave. The location is simply the best - on the waterfront, close to sea bus, and within walking distance of many wonderful restaurants. The market provided tasteful and varied fare.

Great Memory of Vancouver

5 of 5 starsReviewed 2 December 2013

We recently travelled as a family to Vancouver to visit family. This hotel was reasonably priced, and close to our family. We wanted to not use a car, and be able to use the transit as much as possible. It was very efficient, and saved a lot of headaches with traffic. We usel the seabus daily, and found that the bus and train connections were excellent. It added to our experience.

The hotel itself is located in a public market, and we enjoyed the various food options. With children, you do not want to be in a restaurant all the time. They loved the fish and chips, and we loved the homemade soups. Also, budget wise, it made sense. They enjoyed running around the waterfront plaza while we took the sites on the waterfront. The festivals are very good, as was the farmers market. This is not a typical "downtown" hotel. You will find something for everyone in the market. We did try some local eateries, and were pleased also.

The hotel seemed very busy, but the staff was good, and we returned to clean rooms daily. It is not a brand new hotel, but it suited us very well, the bedding had been refreshed, and the bathrooms were very clean and tidy. Being in a public market, we felt safe with our key entry, and it was quiet at night.

I have recommended this hotel upon our return, and would say it is very family friendly and transport friendly.

Great experience on the Vancouver waterfront!

5 of 5 starsReviewed 4 December 2013

We loved the location, we loved the hotel, and we loved being on the waterfront at a reasonable price! Our request for a water-side room was gladly accommodated and we're glad we made the request - the view was beautiful and we enjoyed watching the harbor activity.

The directions on the hotel's website were very easy to follow and got us to the hotel without any problems, which is always a great help in a new city. Once there, we found the hotel very centrally located and easy get to get around from.

The rooms are quite large and clean, the decor was suitable for a standard room, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again on our next getaway to Vancouver.

“Superb & Underrated Hotel in Amazing Location”

5 of 5 starsReviewed 18 July 2013

Lonsdale Quay hotel was excellent for our short 2 day stay in Vancouver pre-cruise. I spent alot of time ahead of our trip looking for a great hotel in Vancouver with a location near the cruise port. Everything seemed so expensive! Finally I came across a post on an online forum recommending this hotel. We found a great rate on Hotwire, and I'm convinced it is one of the best locations in town, especially for the price. The SeaBus port is right out the hotel and it drops you off just a couple blocks down from the cruise terminal in Vancouver. We watched the schedules to see when the SeaBus would come, and it took us only about 20 minutes to get from our room to the cruise terminal! Can't beat that for the price. The market and restaurants in the same building are excellent as well, made for a great breakfast stop. We highly recommend this hotel!

We booked in to a hotel in the centre for the first night in Vancouver but we felt the area to be too built up with plenty of office blocks and other hotels. The next day we went to a tourist information booth and was helped by a lovely woman who had originally come from Doncaster. She suggested this hotel but I had already seen it on line so I was interested and so she booked a room for us. The hotel is on the North Shore and we had to take the ferry over but the terminal is next to the hotel (there is also a bus station where the buses go all over Vancouver next to the terminal). The hotel is above an indoor market which mainly sells food although it is also a small shopping mall. It is wonderful to visit with a large seating area outside on the water edge. The room we were given was beautiful with a Juliet balcony overlooking the water and two large Millionaire Yachts ! It was well furnished and very clean. Although the hotel room in the centre was very good - this hotel room was far better and a lot cheaper. The views are excellent. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and also do get the bus to Horseshoe Bay which is a great place to visit.

“An oasis just minutes from Vancouver!”

5 of 5 starsReviewed 23 July 2013

This hotel is in a fantastic location - just minutes from Vancouver by a seabus! Spend your day in downtown Vancouver and then go back to your quiet and peaceful hotel with awesome views of the craziness you just left! Enjoy breakfast sitting outside the Lonsdale Quay market or at the hotel's restaurant - both have views of the water, ships, and yachts. Parking is right on site and a reasonable charge (although I really dislike having to pay extra for parking). I must admit that we did have great weather when we were there but regardless, if I never have to stay in downtown Vancouver again, I will not!

One of the best”

We stayed here for one night just to get away for a little bit, and we sure picked the right hotel. It has the perfect location, with a market and food court downstairs and Downtown Vancouver just minutes away. The staff was really friendly and they even recommended some restaurants close by as we arrived just as the market was closing. This was an amazing value for the price we paid. Alot of not-so-great hotels outside of Vancouver charge the same rates as this place. The room was very nicely decorated, with very clean and soft bedding, clean carpets, and great atmosphere (we also had a leather couch which doubled as a bed). Overall, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. In fact, we are planning another getaway for next month. And this time we are definitely staying longer so we can take advantage of everything they have to offer. :)

My husband and I stayed at the Londsdale Quay Hotel twice during our trip to BC & Washington in August 2012. We are always used to staying at 5 star accommodations wherever we go and this hotel was NO EXCEPTION! We absolutely loved it!

The first time we stayed at the Londsdale (for three nights), we were provided with a gorgeous room on the top floor overlooking the Quay and Shipyards. Our rooms were spacious and luxurious. The best part was being able to open up the patio-type doors to breathe in the fresh ocean air. Gorgeous views all around! We were also quite impressed of the amenities available ie. the individual, full-sized water coolers in our room (which I have never seen in any hotels) - great idea and thank you! The beds were super comfortable and the bathroom had some really great quality amenities. Clean and perfect all around!

We went on our trip down South and then came back to stay at the Lonsdale for two more days before heading back to Calgary (home). This time around we were even more in awe of the amazing accommodations and views!! The room we stayed in had 180 degree views of the water and downtown Vancouver - can you ask for more!?! The room was huge, and included a desk and flat screen TV and a hallway to the bathroom. The room also included some artwork and accenting pieces which gave the room charm.

The staff on both parts of our trip were so helpful and friendly! They helped us with directions, good eats, and local tips (ps. check out the restaurant only a block east overlooking the water if you like gourmet treats like Ahi Tuna Nachos, Pier 7). Another amazing thing about this hotel is its location...where else can you find a bustling market three floors down from your room?? The market had the freshest Sushi, fruit, and crepes! The little boutique stores were also really nice and had some unique items you wouldn't be able to find elsewhere. We took the Seabus a couple times to head to Downtown Vancouver, which is basically only a minute away from the market courtyard - so convenient! The hotel parking was great as well...we found underground parking every night - no issues at all and very convenient.

All in all this hotel was clean, luxurious, charming, convenient and unique all in one! If you are considering this hotel, don't believe any bad reviews that are posted. This hotel has got it all!!! The staff bend backwards to ensure you have a great stay and the location of the hotel can't be beat. No where will you be able to stay at a five star hotel (which is what I give it no question!) with amazing restaurants, concerts and people surrounding you. Enjoy your stay at this hotel as it's a gem! Happy travels!

Lonsdale Quay is my dream hotel! Located about above a very trendy market in North Vancouver, I was able to have fresh food and drink every morning! Located near the seabus, I could could see across the bay to Vancouver City. Just fantastic. I would never stay anywhere else when I next go back to Vancouver. Lonsdale Quay is a place that has something for everyone.

“James 10th time at the Lonsdale Quay”

This was my 10th visit there. Clean well appointed rooms, Pleasant staff. Very comfortable... even the Junior suites. Good restaurants close by. Burgoo's (comfort food - great french onion soup too.) Awesome greek place right beside Burgoo's (lonsdale - 200 yrds from hotel) Excellent food court in the lonsdale quay which is a giant indoor market below the hotel on the ground level. Beautiful harbour view on the east side from your room. Very nice place.

“Great Hotel”

When I go to vancouver for business or pleasure, and don't feel like staying with family or friends, I always stay at the Lonsdale quay hotel. The staff are friendly and have always made my stay comfortable. I also enjoy receiving the Globe and Mail in the morning. The rooms are large, clean and quiet. I have stayed in other hotels in North Van. but like the Quay the best.

“Great place to stay. Lots of amenities nearby. Ask for water view.”

Good value for the $$ considering total package........excellent market, proximity to ferry, and dining opportunities within easy walking distance. On cruise return, able to get early check in by calling ahead. Suggest requesting water view as other alternatives not too attractive ie: passers by have great view, if they choose, of your temporary habitat........

“A great night's sleep”

The Lonsdale Quay Hotel has a great location. Located right next to the seabus stop where there are also numerous bus routes available. The hotel is on the third floor above a floor of retail shops which is above a floor that is the Lonsdale Quay market. Interesting stalls and an International food court. A great nearby view of downtown Vancouver across the water.

“Must see it to believe it!”

I loved, loved, loved this hotel. We stayed at 5 different hotels during our recent trip to Vancouver and Victoria and this one was the best (value and overall comfort/look). It's absolutely beautiful, great view of the bay, excellent service, great value (we booked on expedia and saved 50%!). The rooms were very comfortable and beautiful (and FREE internet access in the rooms).

“Weekend in the City!”

This is the place if you want to spend the weekend in the city. We live in a rural community 50 km from North Vancouver, so sometimes we want a taste of the "city" and with Lonsdale Quay seconds from the SeaBus terminal, you can be in Vancouver's downtown in minutes. It is also a major bus hub, so if you don't want to drive, there are countless bus routes converging here. Also, there is wonderful farmers market below the hotel that has all the food and shopping options you could want. Parking is the least expensive I've ever seen in a city hotel. Take a walk up Lonsdale Street, for more shops and restaurants. The room we stayed in was large with several nice windows and a comfortable queen sized bed. They have great winter rates, so if you want a comfortable and pleasant Fall Winter, or Spring weekend getaway, definitely choose this hotel. This is our hotel of choice in North Vancouver.
